Open Figma links in your work Chrome profile on Mac

Why give it its own rule

Figma files are shared by link, and whether you can open one depends on which Figma account is signed in. If a designer's link opens in a browser logged in to your personal Figma, you only see 'Request access', and accepting an invite there puts the file under the wrong team.

How to set it up

  1. Install ChooseBrowser and pick it in System Settings → Desktop & Dock → Default web browser.
  2. In ChooseBrowser, add a rule for the hosts below and choose the browser and profile (profiles of Chrome, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi and Chromium need a one-time local setup in the app).
  3. From then on, these links open straight in that browser from any app; links without a rule show the picker.

Hosts to add

  • figma.com

Add a rule for www.figma.com and another for figma.com, both pointing at the work profile of Chrome, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi or Chromium where your company Figma account is signed in. Design files, prototypes and FigJam boards all use these two hosts, so a path rule is usually unnecessary.

Check that it works

Open a link like www.figma.com/design/... and confirm it opens in the work profile with your company team in the left sidebar; then open any non-Figma link and confirm it shows the picker or goes to your usual browser instead.
