Common questions
- Links still open in my old browser. Open ChooseBrowser and click “Set as Default Browser”, or pick ChooseBrowser under System Settings › Desktop & Dock › Default web browser.
- A browser is missing from the picker. ChooseBrowser lists apps that macOS knows can open http and https links. Launch that browser once, then reopen the picker. Also check the Browsers tab in Settings in case it was hidden.
- I want one site to always use the same browser. Press ⌥↵ in the picker instead of ↵. The rule appears in Settings › Rules, where you can also add a rule that matches a path, so one site can route to different browsers.
- My Chrome profiles are not listed. Open Settings › Browsers and use “Allow Access…” under Browser profiles. macOS asks you to confirm the browser’s folder, and each profile then appears as its own entry.
- How do I stop using it? Choose another default web browser in System Settings, then delete ChooseBrowser. Your rules live inside the app’s container and are removed with it.
